Dr. Alex von Frankenberg

Dr. Alex von Frankenberg is Managing Director of the High-Tech Gründerfonds. Before taking that position in October 2005 he was responsible for spin-offs as Venture Manager at the Siemens Technology Accelerator (STA). Before joining the STA in April 2002 Alex was head of sales and marketing of an IT start-up. Prior to that he headed the Innovation Practice at Siemens Management Consulting. He started his career designing and implementing large IT systems with Andersen Consulting. Alex holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin (1992) and a PhD from the University of Mannheim (1997).

Gunnar Berning

Gunnar studied economics and finished with a degree as an industrial engineer at Karlsruhe University. He later worked three years at Bertelsmann AG/Lycos Europe followed by six years at Siemens AG. Since 2009 he is the founder and CEO of Twago, the largest pan-european market for online labour.

Sylvius Bardt

Sylvius brings its global senior management experience in the field of consumer products into Adviqo. He is also BITKOM spokesman for Berlin and Brandenburg. He has expertise in strategic consulting as well as know-how in building and advising startups. Before founding Adviqo, Sylvius was a co-founder of EventureCoach, a Polish e-commerce incubator and advised several start-ups in Germany in marketing and finance.

Caroline Drucker

Caroline Drucker (@Bougie on Twitter) is the Country Manager for Etsy Germany. Prior to Etsy she worked as Product Manager and Partner Marketing Manager for SoundCloud, the world’s leading social sound platform. Caroline also has significant experience in media publishing – playing a key role in establishing VICE magazine in the German market; managing the business development for the leading literary and creative quarterly DUMMY and spearheading the digital strategy behind the re-launch of der Freitag, a left-leaning weekly newspaper.

Gabriel Yoran

Co-founder of consumer privacy software company Steganos (which he started at the age of 17) and location-based social network, aka-aki. Gabriel is an expert in product design and consumer marketing with more than 15 years of professional experience.

Mischa Wetzel

After being an entrepreneur for more than ten years in the music, media and Internet space, Mischa Wetzel joined IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft as Investment Manager in 2008. As Head of the company’s Creative Industries team, he oversees and manages the venture capital financing of Berlin based startup firms in this field. His current investment portfolio spans across the sectors of music, entertainment, e-commerce and consumer internet, and games. He sits on the boards of Moviepilot GmbH, Aupeo GmbH, Mysportgroup GmbH, Neonga AG, and Sofatutor GmbH. Born in 1972, Mischa Wetzel earned a degree in Psychology from Freie Universität Berlin. He also holds an MBA with Distinction of Warwick Business School (UK).

Christian Springub

Christian started his first business at the age of 12 buying and reselling kinder surprise collectible toys at flea markets. Three years later he switched to creating websites for small business in his hometown with Fridtjof. Christian moved to San Francisco in 2011 to build Jimdo in the USA.

Steffen Wicker

Steffen is co-founder and CIO of simfy. He studied business administration at University of Mannheim, where he majored in marketing, information systems, and English studies. During his studies he also gained practical experience at Siemens AG and Deutsche Bank AG. Steffen spent part of his studies at the renowned Rotman School of Management in Toronto. Upon his return, he co-founded simfy in 2006.

Mark Tuttle

Mark is a serial entrepreneur from California, coming from an entrepreneurial family. Some of his notable startups include, the worlds first B2B diamond trading platform; Web Associates (now Level) acquired in 2011 by Rosetta for over $100 million, and a host of others. He has been successful at landing major accounts for his startups, such as Apple, Acer, Yahoo, Lucent Technologies and HP.

Wiebke Koch

Wiebke has been consulting social start-ups and communities for over 20 years. Over time, her search for a way to combine the efficiency of the business world with the intention to leave the world a better place gradually led her to a full-time career in social entrepreneurship all over the globe. She co-founded a number of successful and less successful non-profits and social ventures like One Umbrella (Australia), HUB Berlin (now- Social Impact Lab), Nomads Hub and the glass half full. Today, she works as freelancer for the Master of Public Policy at Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance as well as on several projects building entrepreneurial capacity in rural India.

Sascha Kellert

Sascha Kellert is founder and CEO of ezeep which is fixing one of the largest pains in technology – printing. Prior to building ezeep, Kellert spent several years in classic consulting in London and Berlin. He is an avid supporter and evangelist for systems theory and systems thinking and it’s role in entrepreneurship and management and has been a guest lecturer on the subject at Cass Business School in London.

Christian Thaler Wolski

Christian joined Wellington Partners in 2009. He is an Investment Manager with the Digital Media and Software team and his primary role is identifying exciting investment opportunities and building relationships with the great entrepreneurs behind these companies. Christian brings entrepreneurial and industry experience to his role. He started his career at ORACLE, the global leader in the software industry. In 2007 he joined the management team of student loan vendor CareerConcept AG as the Director of Business Development.

Stephan Uhrenbacher

Stephan is a serial enrepreneur based in Hamburg, Germany. Stephan is the founder and was CEO of Qype, which he built into Europe’s largest local review web site, acquired by Yelp in October 2012. He is also founder and CEO of leading private accommodation marketplace 9flats. He is currently building several startups within his incubator UPSPRING. His background in the web business goes back to 1996 when he started, later on he founded before joining in London as Head of Northern European Operations. Before starting Qype, he was COO for DocMorris, Europe’s largest mail order pharmacy.

Shermin Voshmgir

Shermin is the founder of ISPYFILM. Prior to that she was co-founder & Managing Director of cinovu. Shermin got her PhD in IT-Management in Vienna and later went on to study filmmaking in Madrid. Her work experience ranges from IT-consulting to international film distribution, including 9 years of experience as an independent filmmaker/producer. Among others, her films have screened in Cannes and at dOCUMENTA (13).
